Science meets storytelling in this cross curricular PD! Join us in this field based exploration of the Badlands with guest instructor ESRI consultant Kyle Treddinnick. You will spend one day in class in Wall and three days/three nights camping in the primitive area of the Badlands doing field studies.

Along the way you will

  • explore the watersheds, geology, flora, and fauna of Badlands National Park,
  • make an ARCGis Story Map of your explorations,
  • participate in citizen science, using iNaturalist,
  • gather phenomena and stories for your class,
  • practice GLOBE field skills (certification encouraged)
  • start on earning National Geographic Educator Certification.
Suitable for teachers in Grades 4-12. This class is a hybrid, requiring a remote meeting before the class and assignment for credit.
