Civil Air Patrol / National Guard Museum

Ages: 6th-8th grade

Limit: 15

Fee: Non-members $15, Members $13

Program Description: Emergency! Emergency! Someone got lost while hunting, a boat has capsized on the lake, your neighbor has fallen and broken their arm. Join the Civil Air Patrol in exploring how to serve our community as an emergency responder. Each session, we will role play different emergency situations and practice skills CAP volunteers, EMTs, firefighters and other first responders use to help. Learn about how you can join the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.

Covid 19 Camp Protocol:

  • Daily screenings will occur at check-in. Families will be reminded to keep any children home that have a fever, cough, or if any other family member has had similar symptoms or confirmed diagnosis of exposure to Covid-19 in the past 14 days. In addition, if members of the family have recently traveled or been in contact with people in areas with elevated spread, we will ask that children not participate.

  • Camps will limit group size so that no more than 10 kids will be congregated in one confined location at any given time.

  • Hand washing will be regularly scheduled and taught throughout the camp.

  • Staff will be masked.

  • Supplies will not be shared to the extent possible and re-usable items will be sterilized every day.

  • Activities will be run outside unless adverse weather requires that we be inside.

  • If a confirmed case is identified among staff or campers, families will be notified of the risk of exposure, and programs will be suspended until further notice.

Campers will not be required to wear masks, but parents and guardians may send a mask if they wish for their child to wear one.
