If you have taught or are interested in teaching children, youth, and families about soil health in hands-on and interactive ways this training is for you!
The South Dakota Discovery Center, with support from the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, is offering a one day training to equip volunteers with the knowledge, skills and abilities to teach about soil health to K-8 students. In this workshop participants will learn best pedagogical practices as well as learn and practice hands-on grade appropriate activities. Many of these skills will transfer to the community audience.
This workshop will observe all social distancing practices including wearing masks, gathering in groups of less than ten, and staying 6 feet apart.
Participants will be provided with round trip mileage and a per diem for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. A one night motel stay will be covered for those requiring lodging on the night of Jan 5.
Please register using this form. Use a separate registration form if more than one person from a household is attending. If you have questions or need more information, please contact Anne at email@example.com.
Space is limited to 8 participants. After the workshop fills, registrants will be added to a waitlist. Preclass reading is required.
